International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) 2018 South Pacific Region - Central Division: Sydney Site

Welcome to the Sydney site of the South Pacific Region Divisional Contest, which is part of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC). Results from the Divisional Contest will be used to determine which teams go on to compete in the Regional Final Contest, which will take place at UNSW Sydney on 23 - 24 November 2018.

Teams of 3 students work together to solve about 12 problems within a 5 hour period. Each team only has access to one computer. Programs may be written in Java, C, C++, or Python. The contest involves problem solving, programming, and lots of teamwork.

The Sydney site is hosted by the School of Information Technology at the University of Sydney.

  • Date: Saturday 20th October 2018

Competition Day Schedule

  • 10:30 – 11:00: Arrival and check in (Between PNR building and School of Chemical Biomolecular Engineering)

  • 11:00 – 11:30: Opening and contest instructions (PNR Lecture Theatre 2)

  • 11:30 – 12:00: Practice session to familiarise with the computer environment (PNR Learning Studios 310 and 311)

  • 12:00 – 12:30: Break (Lunch will be provided)

  • 12:30 – 17:30: Divisional contest (PNR Learning Studios 310 and 311)

  • 17:30 – 17:45: Break

  • 17:45 – 18:00: Prizes and wrap up (PNR Lecture Theatre 2)

  • Languages: Java (version 1.8.0_131), C/C++ (version 6.3.0), Python (version 3.5.3)

  • IDEs/Editors: geany 1.29, eclipse 3.8, gedit 3.22.0, sublime 3176, vim 8, emacs
